A Card For The New Grandparents

Welcome back to my blog!

Great news everyone!  My friend who has been expecting had her baby last night!  She had a little boy called Kyle Alexander Jack (Surname is Jack!)!  8lbs ?oz!  Both Mum and Son doing well!  I made a card for them a couple weeks ago and entered it into a challenge so I thought a card for the new Grandparents would be nice as well!

So here it is!

To make this card I used the following materials:

Smooth White 6x6 Card Blank
Blue Gingham Backing Paper**
Blue Card Stock**
Blue Paper Glitter Card**
Smooth White Card Stock
DoCrafts Daisy & Dandelion Woodland Background Stamp
DoCrafts Daisy & Dandelion Hedgehog Baby Stamp
Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip Ink Pad**
ProMarkers - Leaf Green, Ruby, Grass, Azure**, Powder Blue**, Blush, Cinnamon** & Henna**
2 Blue Spotty Brads**
Pinflair Glue
Double Sided Sticky Tape
3D Foam

I'm quite chuffed about this card as I managed to do some masking in it to use 2 different stamps.  It was my own "Lisa's Masking Technique" I used though, so not exactly the correct masking method!  Put it this way, I have brown ink on my finger from rubbing ink off the stamp on the bit I didn't want to stamp! hehe.  It worked though!

I hope you like it and would love to hear any feedback you have about my card.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sunday Sketch & Stamp Challenge #89 - Grys Sketch
Creative Craft Challenges - We're Talking The Colour Blue
Whimsy Stamps Challenge 22 - Blue & Brown Combo (** items above used for this challenge)

Take care and thanks for stopping by!

All Things New

Well I am slowly getting back into the crafting way this year!  I say it all the time, that I'm going try and do more crafting and enter more challenges and blog hops, or blops as I like to call them!

So here is my first attempt at entering a challenge which I have no idea about!

The term "All Things New" stands for a few reasons for this card:

  1. It's for a new baby boy
  2. It's a new Lili of The Valley stamp
  3. I've never used the embossing folder
  4. The glitter card is new
So to make this card, I used the following materials:

6x6 Scallop Card Blank
Blue Card
Glitter Card
Blue Baby Glitter Card
Blue Mirror Card
Lili Of The Valley Baby Elephant Stamp
White Card Stock
Versa Mark Black Ink Pad
Acrylic Block
Promarkers -  Stain, Cinnamon, Leaf Green & Powder Blue
Adhesive Gems
Blue Gingham Ribbon
Stickles - Stardust
Cuttlebug
From Me To You Spotty Embossing Folder
Papermania Blue Ink Pad
Double Sided Stick Tape
3D Foam Pads
"It's A Boy" Peel Offs

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Delicious Doodles - #10 - All Things New
Lexi's Creations - #55 - Anything Goes

Hope you like my card.  If you have any questions, I'd be delighted to answer them.

Thanks for stopping by.

CBGM - Decoupage Challenge - 7 Jan

Welcome back to one of my first blog entries for 2012.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.  If you are anything like me, you would have been spoilt rotten!!

This is the first challenge hosted by Gill McCall this year.  I am part of the Design Team at Creations By Gill M and as a team, we provide the inspiration for the challenges.  You can take part too and enter the challenges.  There are just 3 small things you have to do:
  • Be a follower of both mine and  Creations By Gill M's blog
  • Mention that you are entering the challenge from Creations By Gill M within the entry
  • Complete the Mr Linky details on the challenge page which, when filled in, will take people to your blog entry for the challenge
So, the first challenge in 2012 is to complete a decoupage project.

Decoupage is created by building up various elements of 1 single image to provide a layered and raised appearance.

Here is my interpretation:

I used the following to make my card:
  • Craftwork Cards Elegant Square white card blank
  • From Me To You Decoupage Pack (decoupage image, borders and backing papers)
  • Mei Flowers light blue and clear adhesive gems
  • Pinflair Glue Gel
  • Double Sided Sticky Tape

I'm really happy with the way the card turned out and have given it to my friend Jo for her birthday.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you make.  Myself and the other Design Team members love receiving feedback about our projects and we always leave feedback for all the entrants in the challenge!  So please feel free to leave a comment and we'll be sure to leave some too!

Happy crafting!
