Welcome back everyone!
Time for another challenge courtesy of Gill McCall at Creations By Gill M. This weeks challenge theme is "Anything That Flies" and there is a sketch to follow. Details of the challenge and the sketch can be found in Gill McCall's Blog.
I received a card request from my Mum for a family friend's son who loves Dr. Who, so I thought this would be a good card to do for this challenge. Something a bit different!
So this is the card I made:
I folded an A4 piece of card in half to make an A5 portrait card. I cut a piece of blue card and attached to the card blank, leaving a thin white border. I then used thin gold border peel offs around each edge of the blue card. I then cut a piece of gold mirror card and matt and layered a piece of the blue card on top and attached it to the card with double sided sticky tape.
I printed two Doctor Who images from the internet and cut them into an oval and a circular shape using my XCut cutting system. I used 3D foam to attach the main image of the tardis to the card. I then cut a small circle of gold mirror card and attached the small image of the current Doctor and attached this to the bottom left hand side of the card. For the sentiment "Happy Birthday Ross" and the number "9", I used various gold peel offs.
I hope you like my card, and hope that Ross will too!
This is a great challenge to take part in as the theme "Anything That Flies" can be used for girls and boys. Whether is a fairy, angel, bird or plane; the theme can be used for a multitude of uses!
Have fun and don't forget to leave myself and the other design team members feedback.
Thank you and take care.

CBGMDT CHALLENGE - BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC - SKETCH
Time for another challenge courtesy of Gill McCall at Creations By Gill M. This weeks challenge theme is "Believe In The Magic" and there is a sketch to follow. Details of the challenge and the sketch can be found in Gill McCall's Blog.
This is the card I made for this challenge:
I made this A4 card by using attaching 2 pieces of A4 white shimmer card with a narrow hinge on the inside of the card. I cut a piece of 12x12 stripey pink, brown and white paper and covered the front of the card with it. I cut a piece of brown card and 2 shades of pink card and matt and layered them together for the main image. I used a Forever Friends adhesive sticker for the main image and placed this on the pink and brown card. I attached this to the main card using 3d foam
I cut some more brown and pink card and matt and layered them together. I printed the sentiment "Happy Birthday! Hope You Have A Magical Day!" and attached this on top.
To complete the card, I stuck a pink adhesive gem on the bottom right hand corner of the main image and used Pinflair Glue to attach 3 stars on the left hand side of the sentiment strip.
This is a great challenge to take part in as the theme "Believe In The Magic" can be used for girls and boys. Whether is a magical fairy, wizard or magician; the theme can be used for anyone who believes in magic!!

LAZY SUNDAY
What a lazy day I've had! It's been great! Managed to sleep in until 10am, then just relaxed in bed. Managed to get up at 1pm for lunch, then made 2 cards, you can see them below. Eventually got dressed at 6pm just before dinner!!
It's been nice to just relax and not rush around like I tend to usually do.
So here are the cards I've made. They are a request from someone who works with my sister. A family friend has just had twins, a girl and a boy. So there is a personalised card with the babies names, Brodie and Amber and the date they were born, 31.07.11.
I used an A4 piece of white card and scored it into a gatefold card. I covered each side of the gatefold with plain coloured card, a green and blue for Brodie's side and a pink and lilac for Ambers side. I cut two pieces of gingham ribbon and attached each to the back of the coloured card. I used two Kanban decoupage images of babies and attached to the card using 3D foam. I then decorated each side with baby embellishments made from a cuttlebug die and ones from my stocks. I also used small gems to decorate the card. I used silver peel offs to spell out the babies names and the date of their birth. I also printed the sentiment "Congratulations On The Birth Of Your Twins".
I also made a card for the grandparents of the babies. For this card I made a DL card and covered it in pink and blue paper. I then attached two Kanban decoupage baby images and attached them with 3D foam to the card. I attached 2 pieces of white Card Candy and 4 adhesive gems to the card before finishing it with a printed sentiment which says "To The Proud Grandparents".
Tomorrow I'm hoping that I'll be able to get a good crafting day done. Haven't had one in a long time so hopefully I'll get quite a bit done tomorrow, or if not this week!
Bye for now. xxx

COCKTAILS & DREAMS BLOG HOP - 1ST AUGUST 2011
Hiya!
Welcome to my blog and my entry for the Cocktails & Dreams Blog Hop being hosted by Gill McCall (Creations By Gill M).
You should have arrived here from Corrine's Blog . If not, hop along to Gill's Blog and you can start hopping along from there.
Gill is a big dreamer and loves imagining what could be! She also loves pina coladas (or any other coconut based alcoholic drink!!) So the theme of this blog hop is cocktails and dreams!
My dream holiday is to go to New York. I've always loved New York, and with the popular TV show "Sex And The City" and films such as "Confessions Of A Shopaholic", I want to go even more! Obviously when you go to New York, you must have a cocktail! So in the true style of the Sex And The City girls, my dream holiday would include enjoying cosmopolitan cocktails in the heart of New York! I hope you like what I've made for this hop.
So what do you think? I'd love to see your comments, so please feel free to leave some feedback below.
To make my scrapbook page, I used a 12x12 piece of grey card stock as the base layer. I printed some photos of New York from the internet of some of the many things I'd love to see and do when I go to New York, hopefully in 2015, for my 30th birthday! I matt and layered each of the pictures on black and grey shimmer card, leaving thin borders on each layer. I used 3d foam to attach The Empire State Building picture and the cosmopolitan cocktail. I printed the recipe for a cosmopolitan cocktail and matt and layered this on more black and grey card. I also did this with my wee blurb. I used a quickie glue pen and some shimmer glitter on the lime wedge on the cocktail to make is sparkle! To complete the page, I used some clear adhesive gems and silver peel off letters to spell out "New York"!
It's now time to hop on over to Jessica's Blog. She's made an amazing project, so hop on over and see what you think. You can also hop onto the other participant's blogs.
Thanks for hopping by, take care!
