Scrapbox Challenge - Creations By Gill M Design Team

Welcome back everyone!  It's time for the Scrapbox Challenge, presented by Gill McCall at CBGM.

Our challenge this week was to make a project using scraps from our scrapbox.  It's a great way to use up the bits of paper, card and embellishments in our scrapbox.  If you're anything like me, and most crafters, you NEVER throw anything away!!  So the scrapbox, or boxes just seems to get bigger and bigger!!

This is just some of my scrapbox.....

Out of that, I picked these bits of paper and the TT topper, which is actually a cut up tissue box!

Collectively, they made this 8x8 card!  I cut some of the papers to various sizes and then used double sided sticky tape to attach the papers and card.   To attach the embellishments and sentiment, I used 3D foam and decorated the card with clear adhesive gems.

Hope you like it!  I'd love to hear your comments about the card and see what you have made!

You can enter the blog challenge, just go to the CBGM Blog.  To be in with a chance of winning the challenge, please remember to follow the CBGM Blog, link your entry to the blog and mention that you are entering the challenge in your post blurb - simple!

Can't wait to see what you make, and remember to leave comments for myself and the other design team members.

Thanks for stopping by!

Me hearties and me's task fer this Th' International Natter Like A Pirate Day was t' make a pirate themed project.  Here be me one:

'Tis a birthday card fer me bucko Tracy's wee lad, Reece who be goin' t' be 4 at th' start o' October.

I made th' card by makin' a 13x15cm easel card wit' white card stock.  I covered th' fore 'n th' base o' th' card wit' a beach scene 6x6 paper which was cut t' size, usin' double sided sticky tape.

I Then used pinflair glue t' attach a pirate ship, an anchor, a loot chest 'n a map t' th' card.  I got these images from a Card Creations Embellishment pack.  Thanks t' Cap'n Gill McCall, I was able t' print an image o' a pirate 'n colour in usin' Pro Markers.  I cut this out 'n attached it t' th' card wit' more pinflair glue.

T' finish th' card, I used gold peel offs t' write "Reece's Pirate Ship" 'n th' number "4" on th' fore o' th' card.  On th' inside o' th' card, I also used a gold Happy Birthday" peel off.

Th' next stop on yer pirate voyage will be Captain Anita's tale.  So go thar now 'n look o'er wha' she has made fer this hop.

T'would make me day t' hear wha' ye reckon o' me card.  N' remember!  'Tis mighty important t' leave feedback on all th' tales ye visit.  Ye could win some blog candy!  Jus' make sure ye follow Boatswain Gill's Tale 'n leave comments.

It be in me mind fer ye t' make a project wit' pirates in mind, ye can nah muck it up, so ye won't 'ave t' walk th' plank!

Never Ending Card

Good evening everyone.  Hope you've had a good week.  Nearly the weekend!  Anything exciting planned?  I was supposed to be going to a craft demo at my local craft shop, but unfortunately, it's been cancelled.

But anyway!  Here is my first attempt at a Never Ending Card.  It's for my friend Felicity's birthday.  I always like to try something a bit special for my crafty friends' cards!  So I thought I'd try this one!  I must thank Cliona Larkin at Night Owl Designs.  We had a great Skype session and she was able to teach me how to make a Never Ending Card!  Thank you Cliona!! xx

Hopefully you'll be able to get the jist of the card with these photos!  I'd love to hear your feedback, so please leave a comment!

If you'd like to know how to make this type of card, please leave a comment saying so.

Just A Few Of My Recent Cardmaking Creations

Here are some photos of cards I have made in the last few weeks..  Hope you like them, I'd love to receive feedback about them!

It's Been A While!

It's been a while since I've blogged, so sorry about that.

Here I am now though.

So, since the last time I blogged, I've had the village gala!  I had a stall selling my cards at it.  It was held in the local park in Conon Bridge and wow!  What a windy day it was!

My sister Amy helped me set up in the morning.  There were already some stalls set up on one side of the park, but they were being faced with the wind coming straight at them, so the man organising the whole day suggested I go to the other side of the park.  Also, the next available stall space was next to someone who was also selling cards, so we didn't think it would be a great idea going next to them.

I borrowed a gazebo from my friend for the day, so Amy helped me set it up along with all my cards etc.  She then had to go away fora a short time.  Unfortunately, whilst she was away, the wind increased.  And boy oh boy, the gazebo did not like it!  It was swaying from side to side, the strings were breaking, the pegs were being pulled up from the ground and my cards started blowing away!!  It was a nightmare!!  The roof of the gazebo also started collapsing!

Thankfully Amy and our Mum arrived back and they managed to dismantle the gazebo, with the help of some strapping young men!  Whilst I caught all my cards, packed everything away and then ran to another stall, one which was set up for someone else who didn't turn up.

I eventually managed to get everything set up the way I wanted and was soon selling away!  I made £41.50 on the day.  I would have liked to have made a little bit more, but it's £41.50 I didn't have before hand.  I think I didn't make a bit more because of my location on the day.  There was a row of stalls on one side and on the other, there was a couple of game stalls for the kids and a bucking bronco too.  I was on that side with the games etc, so think it caused a bit of a problem.  I actually had a few people come up and say "Oh Lisa, you're here, I didn't think you were."  So I think next time, if I'm asked if I'd like a stall again, I'll just have to go where the other "selling" stalls are, and hope that my cards stand out more than anyone else who is selling.

Here are some photos from the day.  The majority of the photos are from my first stall - before the gazebo disaster!  Only got a couple of photos on the 2nd stall, but haven't got them yet - they're on my Dad's camera....and he's on holiday with it just now!
